Block Numbers!

As part of the build up to the 5000th episode that will air in Australian in around 10 weeks time the Neighbours script writers have snuck in block numbers to one episode every week.

It's up to fans to listen closely for these numbers as the countdown to the big 5000th episode of the show begins.

For Australian viewers one number has already been mentioned.

The block numbers are just to keep track of how the show is shot (so it's shot in blocks of 5 episodes as we're heading towards the 5,000 episode which will be the 1,000 block).

Ordinarily it's just a number used by the production team and of little use to those watching the show (similar to episode numbers but those are often used in episode summaries) however for the 5,000 episode celebration (which is 40 episodes award in Australia with todays episode being episode number 4961) the Neighbours team have decided to work them into the show. So somewhere in a weeks episode for the next few weeks in AustraliaBlock Numbers

BLOCK NUMBERS:

990 - 17th to 23rd April 2006 (Australia)
The arrival of Mishka Schneiderova saw an anxious Lou try to pick her up at the airport. The flight number of the plane Mishka was supposed to be on was 990.

991 - 24th to 28th April 2006 (Australia)
* Number not included in final episodes but it has been suggested that 991 was to be the gallery number of the art exhibition J.P and Sky attended.

992 - 1st to 5th May 2006 (Australia)
As Paul was scammed out of the General Store by Lou and Miskha the arbitrary council regulation which their council inspector quoted to Paul which would mean that Paul would have to fix all of the breaches of the councils building regulations was 992.

993 - 8th to 12th May 2006 (Australia)
Ned finds himself complaining to Connor about his return to his more normal nicer self and how it's effecting his performance as a traffic warden. Stating that he has issued 50 tickets so far for the month he then points out that the current leader has issued 993 tickets.

994 - 15th to 19th May 2006 (Australia)
Whilst Elle and Sky are looking at the plastic kitchen utensils they have to sell over the phone Elle picks up a random utensil and says that she has no idea what it is. Sky looks at the list of products they've been given and states that it's item 994 a boiled egg remover. you'll here the block number in the script somewhere.
